Welcome to the monthly Matched Betting Blog update. Each month I blog about matched betting and what matched betting offers I took part in. If you want to join me in making money from matched betting; I recommend signing up for a site like Profit Accumulator to guide you. I also use Smarkets for almost all of my bets as it has the lowest commission charge of all the major exchanges.
Grand National
As always Bet365 came through at the last minute with their amazingly generous £125EW refund offer. Most people managed to turn this into about £80 per account.. AND have a chance at hitting some of the extra places. I also saw some people in the various groups managed to dutch the entire race with some locking in 4 figures. For most of us though we were happy to take that guaranteed £80 plus extra place chance.
Extra Places
Extra places have quickly become the bread & butter offer for experienced matched bettors these past few months. With Bet365 hitting hard on stake limits for those who hammer their 2up offer, extra places are the next obvious target. I’ve had some really good extra place hits on Betfair, William Hill, Betvictor and Skybet. Every hit can make anywhere from £100 to £1000 depending on the odds and stake sizes I’m placing.
Now to be clear; this type of offer usually requires a fairly big bank size to make a decent return. It’s not unusual to have several thousand tied up on a single race! However it is entirely scalable, so while some may be placing £100 bets.. you could just as easily place a £1 bet with the exact same chance of it winning (just a 1/100th of the winning value) so it is easy to test the strategy if you’re unsure. All the major guide sites have instructions and software for finding decent matches.
I’d estimate a good 50%+ of my profit over the past couple of months has been from extra places.
Casino Offers
As always I continued to plough through the low-risk casino offers, mostly in the evenings after the horse racing had finished. Small ones like Betfair’s bet £10 get £2 bonus really add up when you do them every single day. I didn’t have any massive wins this time, just lots of little value offers stacking up.
If you’re interested in starting casino offers; Profit Accumulator have launched their new Diamond membership which combines Profit Accumulator and Bonus Accumulator into a single subscription making things even easier. I strongly recommend checking it out, even if you only do the welcome offers.
Sharbing
With most of the country seemingly on furlough or working from home, many had spare time during the weekday for the first time. A big tread I’ve seen over the past few months has been people hitting the instore offers. Now I talked about this kind of offer years ago when it was paying for my daily lunch, but this new generation of sharbers are going round and hitting double-digit numbers of shops to absolutely hammer the offers.
Whilst I love seeing people taking money from bookies, it beggars belief why you’d be stupid enough to post images like this:
We all know the bookies actively monitor the various matched betting forums and groups, so posting about exploiting a particular offer so heavily against shops which are already struggle to remain financially viable is just stupid. It was no surprise to read a few days later that some people were having their winnings voided instore as they’d been identified as having gone round multiple shops. Thank god this person didn’t post the easily identifiable and trackable barcode from their vouchers…
Don’t be an idiot. Hitting a couple of shops is fine.. going round London to hit everything in a 20-mile radius is gonna end in tears.
As always you can find me in the Matched Betting Guys & Girls Facebook Group.
