NFL Week 17 Predictions: Straight Up & Against the Spread Picks for Every Game
Week 17 is upon us in the world of NFL and it's getting to squeaky bum time for the playoff-chasing sides...
In Week 16, there were brilliant showings from Adam and Alan when Picking Straight Up, going 11-5 and 12-4 respectively.
As for Against The Spread, it was tough week for all four writers, as Adam, Alan and Jonny all went 8-8, while Neil followed closely behind at 6-10.
For our full season-long record check out the bottom of the article. Please read on for all of our NFL Week 17 Picks & Predictions.
No teams have a bye this week, so there are 16 games to cover.

NFL Week 17 Predictions:
Friday - 01:15:
Game 1: Jets (+7.5) @ Browns
Picks ATS:
Adam: Browns Alan: Jets Jonny: Browns Neil: BrownsMoney Line - Browns 3/10 & Jets 13/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Browns Alan: Browns Jonny: Browns Neil: BrownsComments: The Browns are second in the AFC North and chase one of the five remaining Conference playoff spots. The Jets have no such ambitions, and really ought to be leaving the Lake Erie area with nothing. Browns look a rock-solid money line option but I'm going for the Jets on the spread, as it could be tight - Alan
Sunday - 01:15:
Game 2: Lions (+6.5) @ Cowboys
Picks ATS:
Adam: Lions Alan: Lions Jonny: Cowboys Neil: CowboysMoney Line - Cowboys 4/11 & Lions 11/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Lions Alan: Lions Jonny: Cowboys Neil: CowboysComments: A humdinger possibly awaits, but beware - both are though to postseason and that can have interesting consequences, before the knockout stuff begins. However - the No1 seed position is still up for grabs in the NFC which should keep 'em both focused.
If I tip up the Cowboys they'll duck it. It's one of those unwritten laws of betting. Lions it is then on the spread - they're in decent nick and getting 6.5 is very handy. As to straight up, I'll risk a slight shock - Alan
Sunday - 18:00:
Game 3: Dolphins (+3.5) @ Ravens
Picks ATS:
Adam: Ravens Alan: Ravens Jonny: Ravens Neil: RavensMoney Line - Ravens 8/15 & Dolphins 6/4
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Ravens Alan: Ravens Jonny: Ravens Neil: RavensComments: A late Christmas present for us NFL fans, this one.
The Ravens stunned everybody on Christmas Day with that emphatic win over the San Francisco 49ers, and Lamar Jackson's case for MVP continues to grow week-by-week.
Miami's offense is electric but equally the Ravens' pass defense is incredible. After their excellent showing on Christmas Day, I have to side with Baltimore here. - Jonny
Game 4: Patriots (+11.5) @ Bills
Picks ATS:
Adam: Patriots Alan: Patriots Jonny: Bills Neil: PatriotsMoney Line - Bills 1/7 & Patriots 5/1
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Bills Alan: Bills Jonny: Bills Neil: BillsComments: The Pats surprised a few (me) by winning at Mile High last week, and with supposedly nothing to play for go to Buffalo, who most certainly have.
The undoubtedly-talented Bills have been a real pain for their admirers - so in-and-out. If they can't negotiate this, at home, they deserve nothing. Big spread alert - still hate them - Alan
Game 5: Falcons (+2.5) @ Bears
Picks ATS:
Adam: Bears Alan: Bears Jonny: Falcons Neil: BearsMoney Line - Bears 8/13 & Falcons 13/10
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Bears Alan: Bears Jonny: Bears Neil: BearsComments: The Falcons still have playoff chances of sorts, but the Bears need snookers. Miracles. Lots of them. Atlanta needs to win of course to keep those slim hopes alive, and that won't be easy at Soldier Field as the home side are in reasonable order.
Chicago can take this - and it might just be a little nippy, as is often the case at this time of the year in Illinois, which might hinder the visitors more than the hosts - Alan
Game 6: Titans (+3.5) @ Texans
Picks ATS:
Adam: Texans Alan: Texans Jonny: Texans Neil: TexansMoney Line - Texans 8/15 & Titans 6/4
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Texans Alan: Texans Jonny: Texans Neil: TexansComments: Simple equation - Houston need to win to keep alive their postseason hopes. Their visitors' hopes are gone, and are playing for pride in their performance only. Given that the Texans are at the NRG Stadium they've no excuse to not come out all guns blazing, and hopefully CJ Stroud will be fit to return - Alan
Game 7: Raiders (+2.5) @ Colts
Picks ATS:
Adam: Colts Alan: Raiders Jonny: Raiders Neil: ColtsMoney Line - Colts 8/13 & Raiders 13/10
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Colts Alan: Raiders Jonny: Colts Neil: ColtsComments: Tough one to call this - hence the small spread - but I'm going with the home team primarily because the Raiders won their Super Bowl last week, when they defeated the arch-rival Chiefs.
Vegas are still just about in the hunt to make the playoffs but it would take quite a set of results over the next fortnight. First things first, they need to win out and I think the emotional drop from that victory, will allow Indy to just about grab the home dub - Neil
Game 8: Panthers (+6.5) @ Jaguars
Picks ATS:
Adam: Jaguars Alan: Panthers Jonny: Jaguars Neil: JaguarsMoney Line - Jaguars 1/3 & Panthers 12/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Jaguars Alan: Jaguars Jonny: Jaguars Neil: JaguarsComments: Another match-up with searing clarity - Jags need a win and the Panthers are already hoping next season can be a little kinder. Bit disappointed with Jacksonville - big fan of Trevor Lawrence but instead of dominating the NFC South they're locked in a deadly battle with the Colts and Texans for top spot.
Modest showing from Trev in a pounding at the hands of the Bucs last time doesn't help, but the Panthers are 2-and-13 overall, for goodness sake. News just in that Lawrence is doubtful - I'll go for the win but they might not cover - Alan
Game 9: Rams (-5.5) @ Giants
Picks ATS:
Adam: Rams Alan: Rams Jonny: Rams Neil: RamsMoney Line - Rams 4/11 & Giants 11/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Rams Alan: Rams Jonny: Rams Neil: RamsComments: A relatively straightforward one this, for me.
The Rams simply have too many offensive weapons to contain here, and we know what Aaron Donald is capable of on defense.
The Giants have been hit-and-miss (mostly miss) all season, and I just don't think they have the answers for what Matthew Stafford will ask of them. - Jonny
Game 10: Cardinals (+10.5) @ Eagles
Picks ATS:
Adam: Cardinals Alan: Cardinals Jonny: Eagles Neil: EaglesMoney Line - Eagles 2/11 & Cardinals 4/1
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Eagles Alan: Eagles Jonny: Eagles Neil: EaglesComments: Philly squeaked home against the Giants on Christmas Day but one aspect of the game I thought was key, the fact D'Andre Swift was utilised and we saw the running game once again a significant part of the Eagles' offense.
Jalen Hurts and company need a strong rushing attack to open up the field for the big plays. If they can get back to that, you can bet your bottom dollar that they'll be there or thereabouts when all is said and done. This isn't a slam dunk pick against the spread but I just like the home team - Neil
Game 11: Saints (+2.5) @ Buccaneers
Picks ATS:
Adam: Buccaneers Alan: Buccaneers Jonny: Buccaneers Neil: BuccaneersMoney Line - Buccaneers 8/13 & Saints 13/10
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Buccaneers Alan: Buccaneers Jonny: Buccaneers Neil: BuccaneersComments: It would be more than fair to say that I've not been a Baker Mayfield/Tampa Bay believer in this late surge that has seen them very much in the playoff hunt. I think I've gone against them pretty much every week in the past month and I've been coming up empty. Time to admit that maybe I was wrong and that the Buccaneers are actually half-decent. Cue them probably losing at home but still, I'll roll with them - Neil
Game 12: 49ers (-12.5) @ Commanders
Picks ATS:
Adam: 49ers Alan: Commanders Jonny: 49ers Neil: 49ersMoney Line - 49ers 1/9 & Commanders 6/1
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: 49ers Alan: 49ers Jonny: 49ers Neil: 49ersComments: A Christmas Day to forget for Brock Purdy and the 49ers against Baltimore, as the QB threw four interceptions in the Ravens' blowout win.
Purdy didn’t produce a touchdown — either running or passing — for the first time in 20 career starts and looked overmatched against Baltimore’s stellar defense. However, he has the chance to lead his team back into the win column here (if he's deemed healthy enough), against a Commanders team looking to avoid a seventh-straight loss.
There's extra incentive for SF to get back to winning ways too - they can wrap up the No.1 seed in the NFC should the Niners win and Detroit lose against the Cowboys, coupled with an upset loss for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday against Arizona. - Jonny
Sunday - 21:05:
Game 13: Steelers (+3.5) @ Seahawks
Picks ATS:
Adam: Seahawks Alan: Steelers Jonny: Seahawks Neil: SeahawksMoney Line - Seahawks 8/15 & Steelers 6/4
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Seahawks Alan: Steelers Jonny: Seahawks Neil: SeahawksComments: This is the epitome of a matchup where I don't trust either offense in any way, shape or form and when I'm in such a quandry, I just go with whoever is playing at home. Not a game I'd like to bet on as you quite simply don't know which version of either side will show up - Neil
Sunday - 21:25:
Game 14: Chargers (+5.5) @ Broncos
Picks ATS:
Adam: Broncos Alan: Chargers Jonny: Chargers Neil: ChargersMoney Line - Broncos 2/5 & Chargers 2/1
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Broncos Alan: Chargers Jonny: Broncos Neil: BroncosComments: Last week said everything about the NFL and why we love it so much. Denver lost at home to a terrible Patriots team whilst the Chargers gave red-hot Buffalo everything they could handle.
I don't think Los Angeles are really any good and I don't think the Broncos are half as bad as what we witnessed in Week 16. Time for a correction and Denver to win but that 5.5pt spread feels a bit too big to me - Neil
Game 15: Bengals (+7.5) @ Chiefs
Picks ATS:
Adam: Bengals Alan: Chiefs Jonny: Chiefs Neil: BengalsMoney Line - Chiefs 3/10 & Bengals 13/5
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Chiefs Alan: Chiefs Jonny: Chiefs Neil: BengalsComments: Kansas City - let's try this again.
A surprise defeat against the Raiders last time out shows that the Chiefs are vulnerable, but they're facing a much weaker defense this week, and one that struggles in particular with big pass plays downfield, which is where Kansas City excel.
Cincinnati's three-game winning run was snapped by Pittsburgh last time out, and I can't see Jake Browning being able to compete with Patrick Mahomes if this becomes a shootout. Chiefs for me. - Jonny
Monday - 01:20:
Game 16: Packers (+1.5) @ Vikings
Picks ATS:
Adam: Vikings Alan: Vikings Jonny: Packers Neil: VikingsMoney Line - Vikings 4/5 & Packers 21/20
Picks Straight Up:
Adam: Vikings Alan: Vikings Jonny: Packers Neil: VikingsComments: I must admit, I wasn't sure on whether Jordan Love was the right man to usher in the post-Aaron Rodgers era at Green Bay, but he's been through plenty of ups and downs in his first full season starting at QB, which makes me think he's a keeper.
He's had injuries and position reshufflings around him, but kept the Packers in with a chance (a slim one at that) of qualifying for the playoffs.
Minnesota aren't putting up huge numbers - they've scored 13 across their last two games, so I'm taking the Packers to cause an upset. - Jonny
Season Records:
Against the Spread:
Adam: 113-127Alan: 116-126
Jonny: 126-116
Neil: 121-119
Straight Up:
Adam: 141-99 Alan: 150-90 Jonny: 147-93 Neil: 138-102Remember to check out our NFL Betting Tips index page where we preview games live on Sky Sports along with this weekly column...
