Friday Lucky 15 Tips: Scott targets local success

Decent effort yesterday, virtually doubling our money. Two winners - 5/1 and 9/4 - with a bit of what might have been, as the other two were both placed second.
So to Friday; and lots of excellent racing to choose from. Doncaster, Leopardstown, Limerick, Southwell and Kelso to be precise. I've tipped up a couple from Kelso in a companion piece, and my colleague Owen has run his expert eye over the Irish action at the Christmas Festival.
So it's to Southwell and its Tapeta surface that I'm drawn, Hayley Turner country, for my selections on Friday.
This is an example of how to put together a Lucky 15 - if you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
Prices can of course fluctuate between publishing our pieces and race-time. As a guide, a £0.50p win Lucky 15 on today's selections, at the prices, and assuming all four were successful, would return around £482 for your total £7.50 stake.
Popular legend confirms that Fred, 'The Bonus King,' invented the 'Lucky' series of bets and their bonuses. Want the lowdown - all the ins and outs? My colleague Adam has set out all you need to know with this handy guide - take a look by clicking here.
Lucky 15 tips Friday
All Southwell
16.00 King Of York @ 9/2 17.00 Leap Day @ 5/2 17.30 Glistening Nights @ 4/1 18.30 Rose King @ 7/216.00 King Of York @ 9/2
A 4-yr-old Kingman gelding in the care of Scott Dixon, who trains at the track.
King Of York returned from a 168-day break in December and has had two runs since, being beaten only 2l or less in each. He's down to a career-low mark of 61 and though disappointingly he's yet to get his head in front after 18 attempts those last two spins, and several others in his back catalogue, indicate an undoubted degree of ability.
He's looking dangerously-well handicapped to me and can strike this afternoon, fingers crossed. Jockey Phil Dennis knows the horse and rides today.
17.00 Leap Day @ 5/2
A Great Habton, North Yorkshire raider, trained by Tim Easterby, a constituent part of that majestic racing dynasty. He used to lead up the great Sea Pigeon for Dad Peter, and for some time he's been a fine handler in his own right under both codes.
Leap Day was running on 3 weeks ago at Newcastle in this grade, but over a furlong less. A first try at a mile therefore after that looks eminently sensible. His sire Gregorian got the trip and plenty of his progeny do too. That last effort was probably the 3-yr-old's best to date and he could be primed for a big run today.
The excellent David Allan, 2 wins from his last 7 rides, is in the plate.
17.30 Glistening Nights @ 4/1
Another top Yorkshire handler Richard Fahey sends his Glistening Nights to contest a one mile, 2-yr-old nursery.
He was second a week ago at Wolves in a slightly higher grade, and drops a notch today. That and the quick turnaround offers encouragement to me at least that today could be the day.
The trainer needs no introduction, excellence-wise, and Jack Garrity take the mount.
18.30 Rose King @ 7/2
A 3-yr-old sprinter once again in the care of local trainer Scott Dixon, and ridden by Phil Dennis.
Second here off 73 a week ago, and lines up on the same mark today. Better off with recent conqueror Captain's Bar (same stable) and is a course-and-distance scorer.
Was held up last time and that seemed to suit, challenging late and failing by only a neck at the line. A similar ploy could bear fruit this afternoon.
