National Hunt racing is the main focus across Britain and Ireland on Sunday but there is some Listed all-weather action to look forward to as well.

Punchestown brings us some Irish action over jumps and Lingfield’s all-weather meeting has an eye-catching feature race in the UK - where the cards at Warwick and Uttoxeter have been abandoned due to waterlogging.

Amongst our Sunday fancies is one for Simon and Ed Crisford, who was just outstayed over further last time and should benefit from the drop back in trip.

12.24 Lingfield - Thapa Vc @ 5/2  13.54 Lingfield - Base Note @ 5/2  14.15 Punchestown - Thedevilscoachman @ 9/2

12.24 Lingfield - Thapa VC @ 5/2

Seven-time all-weather scorer THAPA VC could be the one to side with in Lingfield’s opener. This previous course and distance winner should have every chance of following up his victory at Southwell last time out.

Mark Rimell’s five-year-old made smooth headway in the final furlong at Southwell and came through to win by half-a-length. Strong at the line that day, he left the impression that there was more left in the tank.

It wasn’t all plain-sailing however, as he had to switch left in order to get a run and is probably value for a wider winning margin.

The handicapper has responded with a 3lb rise which shouldn’t be too problematic and it would be no surprise to see him add an eighth all-weather victory to his tally.

All eight of his career victories have come over 7f, which tells us he’s a specialist over this trip and there’s always a chance he can get his head in front once again.

13.54 Lingfield - Base Note @ 5/2

The one they all have to beat in Lingfield’s feature Listed race is the Simon & Ed Crisford-trained BASE NOTE, who should be returning to winning ways here.

It was a more than fair effort in a Listed contest over 1m4f at Kempton last time out, finishing a respectable third behind a three-time Group and Grade 1 winner.

Weakening in the final furlong, he was outstayed more than anything and he’s probably better suited to 1m2f at this level, despite being a three-time winner over 1m4f in handicap company.

The opposition certainly isn’t as strong here and this race offers the four-year-old a cracking opportunity to return to winning ways. All five of his wins have come on an artificial surface and he has an excellent course record of two wins in three starts at Lingfield.

With a record of 121 over this trip on the all-weather, he won a handicap at Chelmsford on his penultimate start and his official rating of 107 makes him the best horse in the race.

14.15 Punchestown - Thedevilscoachman @ 9/2

The ground could prove to be the most significant factor at Punchestown on Sunday as it’s going to be very testing, making THEDEVILSCOACHMAN a very interesting proposition.

Noel Meade’s charge is a very talented horse on his day and he returns to hurdles here, after a successful stint over fences. Winning two Grade 3 races in that sphere, he has earned a rating of 152.

It’s his record of three wins from three starts on heavy ground which makes him stand out and it appears he’s better equipped to deal with the conditions than most.

Victorious in a Grade 2 on his last start over hurdles, he beat the re-opposing Ashdale Bob and returning to the smaller obstacles isn’t a concern at all on that evidence. The going was heavy that day and he hasn't had his ideal conditions since.

Whilst some will tire in this ground, Thedevilscoachman won’t and this 147-rated hurdler with significant stamina reserves should run a huge race.
