Has Summer ever arrived… YET!
What an absolute washout July and August has been this year. It was cold and wet for most of the anticipated summer months, funnily we bought a cold air blower last year, we only used it during September and the late heatwave we experienced then!
The rear patio entranceway showing off the Wisteria in all its glory, with a wonderful display of this year’s grapes!
Two of our regular returning guests, pictured here finishing Breakfast, Jane and Richard were our second ever guests to stay at Holly Lodge!
We had a rather special visitor at the end of August who stayed overnight whilst visiting RAF Marham Air Force base, but also included Peter and Ann who stayed with us! It brought back some wonderful memories of my Father who had a Morgan 4+4 a very long time ago!
I can remember when we were kids, my sister and I being squashed up in the back!
We have had a very busy year so far, in many ways repeating itself again as last year, we cooked breakfast every morning during July and August, there is a pattern developing! We have, again, been awarded airbnb Superhost status too!
We must be doing something right, since we started operating back in September 2022, we have received some 98, yes, really 98 5-Star reviews. Not bad for a small one-bedded operation here in sleepy Swaffham, Norfolk!
We find ourselves closing for a week during the first week in November 2023 as Norfolk County Council have deemed it necessary to close London Street from Monday 30th October until Monday 6th November seven days in total for resurfacing works, subject to the weather and traffic uses observing the diversion set routes! We understand the work is scheduled to be carried out at night, so not wishing to cast aspersions on the contractors and the noise they will create, it seemed prudent to close so all those living on London Street can at least benefit from a reasonable night’s sleep!
We are also attending a wedding next June, in Cornwall. Andrew’s youngest nephew, Lewis is getting married to the lovely Emily. It has all the makings of a rather bohemian styled event with great excitement being created and guests travelling from all over the world, the happy couple live and work in Australia.
As I mentioned in the spring blog, The Palm tree looking extremely proud of itself!
Anyhow, that’s all from us and our ramblings… We look forward to welcoming both new and returning guests next year, so that all is really left do is wish everybody a very happy Christmas and an extremely prosperous new year!
