….meeting the people who grow our food…. has become one of my favorite parts of the job!
A couple of weeks ago I had a guest raving about his breakfast burrito. He asked Clea if I went to culinary school. I mean… it’s breakfast in a wrap and he went on and on.
The thing that made this burrito stand out from all of the others that we’ve served is that I used some fresh arugula and pea shoots from our new partner Wild Work Farm in Keene Valley, NY. We first met Wild Work through a post that we did in the Jay Community News looking for local sources of produce and we’re thrilled that they reached out! Yesterday I visited the farm to pick up our greens for the week. Wild Work is on a beautiful piece of land along the East Branch of the Ausable River. As I was driving up I had to stop and take some pics of the fields and greenhouses loaded with produce that could show up on your breakfast plate. It’s no wonder the food tastes so good!
We moved to the Adirondacks for the same reasons most people visit. We love to be in the mountains, hiking and skiing, fishing, biking and exploring small towns. Discovering our local farms, meeting the people who grow our food and serving amazing breakfasts has become one of my favorite parts of the job!
