The first 2019 iteration of the Bitcoin Rodeo will be called The Blockchain and Technology Symposium. It will take place in Edmonton, Alberta on March 5–6 at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

One of the panels that I’m most excited for will be “Fungibility and censorship resistance in the developing world”. For this panel, we’ve brought together an incredible group of speakers from all over the world.

Luis Buenaventura

As an early bitcoin pioneer from The Philippines, Luis Buenaventura has a keen appreciation for how useful bitcoin can be to the unbanked and underbanked of the world. He authored the book “Reinventing Remittances with Bitcoin,” which collects strategies and stories about the fast-growing blockchain remittance industry.

Mauricio Di Bartolomeo

Before December 2017, Mauricio Di Bartolomeo’s and his brother operated bitcoin mining businesses in Venezuela. As a result, he has first-hand experience with the results of an autocratic government, meddling with the national currency. As well as how bitcoin can help in this situation. He brings a perspective few can match.
