There are a lot of books to read and I try my best to read different types of books whenever possible. That has led to me coming across books that I normally wouldn’t. In this article, I will be sharing 9 books you should read!  

If you are anything like me, then you also love recommending books to your friends that you enjoyed a lot. This year, I have tried going out of my comfort zone a lot and reading books that I normally wouldn’t. It also helps that I’ve read many of the better known books.

A majority of the books on this list are books I’ve read in the previous 5 five years. As with most people, my list is biased to what I enjoy. These are some of my favorite reads that I still think about to this day and recommend others to read as well. You can see the full list below!

One of my recent favorite authors is Kristin Hannah and if you haven’t read any of her books, then you are missing out. She is a gifted writer that will make you feel every word on the page. And while The Nightingale is my favorite novel by her, The Great Alone is a close second.  

Another author that I really admire is by Andy Weir. He is in my opinion one of the best sci-fi authors alive. The Martian is a modern classic and Project Hail Mary shows the growth that Weir has undergone over the years.  

I included two books that you may have seen on a few lists. A Confederacy of Dunces by John Kennedy Toole and Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie are two books I enjoyed a lot more than I imagined I would. Sometimes, these lists know what they are talking about.
