I picked up the great white egret about 100m upstream of the hide half hidden by the fence line. The new fence renders stalking impossible, so I sat in the hide to wait for it to walk past, which it did. It was briefly buzzed by a grey heron. A three heron day, with 2-3 little egrets, one feeding on the main track. Still extensive standing water on the Corse, with about 250 teal, 60-80 shoveler, 100 mallard, coot, 2 wigeon, probably 1000 lapwing and 200 golden plover, plus lots of snipe. Distant views of an adult female marsh harrier. 20 greylags flew inland, I later relocated these near the West-Court Farm sheds.
