How Martels Bridal Boutique is keeping you safe after Covid-19
What To Do Before Your Appointment
Find out more about the boutique’s safety guidelines
At Martels Bridal Boutique, brides are asked to read through the store’s Covid guidelines before their appointments. Advice also comes via email or text before the appointment, the list includes information about how many people a bride can bring with her to her appointment — two — what to do prior to arrival — wait until your exact appointment time before entering — and what the appointment will be like — guests must wear a mask at all times and respect the appointment time. The list also asks that all guests inform the boutique prior to the appointment if you feel at all unwell, if you’ve been in contact with anyone who’s tested positive for Covid-19 or has experienced Covid-19 symptoms. On arrival, Martels staff will conduct temperature checks, ask guests to use provided hand sanitiser and sign in.
If you’re still nervous about shopping in-person, talk to us at the boutique prior to your appointment about any concerns and cleaning practices – we will be happy to answer all your questions. For example, any dresses that have been tried on are steamed and sprayed with a fabric disinfectant. All surfaces are also disinfected before and after every appointment, including the couch, and dressing rooms. Remember, we want you to feel as at ease as possible, so no question is too small!
Limit your guests
Whereas you used to be able to bring a large support system with you to your bridal appointment, due to COVID, guest lists are now understandably much smaller. Because of that, it’s important to consider who you want to bring. If you have extra people that you want to include, bring along an iPad or phone with video call capabilities. That way, as many people as you want can be included, without putting anyone at risk.
Have dress styles in mind
While an hour and a half might seem like plenty of time, when you go into the appointment with no real idea of what style of dress you’re looking for, that time will likely fly by. Take a look at what we carry on www.martelsbridal.co.uk, and as brides tend to fall into two categories, which one are you? Either you know exactly what style you’re looking for, or you don’t really have a clue and are there to find out! Pre-COVID, brides that fell into the second category would tell us all about their sense of style and what their wedding was going to look like, and we’d pull options based on their answers. That, however, can be quite difficult to fit into a restricted time slot. Knowing roughly what styles you like before the appointment can really help speed up the process, increasing your chances of finding your perfect dress during it.
What To Do At Your Appointment
Wear a mask
Once at your appointment, the most important thing you can do to stay safe — and keep us safe too — is to wear a mask at all times. According to the guidelines, people should wear masks in all public settings, including anywhere they will be around other people. Likewise, all our bridal boutique employees will be wearing theirs at all times.
Use your Bridal Expert
We suggest trying on as many dresses as possible to discover your preferred silhouette, colour, length, etc during your appointment. Even if you don’t find your exact wedding dress, it’s helpful to narrow down your choices to a few that you love. You can always come back if need be! However, we have years of experience about what dresses look good on certain body shapes and which designers have flexibility with designs and styles so always be open to suggestions from us – you never know, your dream dress may look nothing on the hanger but make you look and feel a million dollars when it’s on you!
We look forward to welcoming you to our boutique very soon. To make an appointment either email hello@martelsbridal.co.uk or call Karen on 07748 820283.
