Victoria Park July Fashion Ambassador: Emily
1) How would you describe your personal style?
I think my style would fall somewhere as a mix between Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn and Rachel from Friends.
2) What influence does fashion have in your every day life?
I am a firm believer in dressing for the job you want; not the job you have, so I try to dress to impress.
3) If you could buy any one item to add to your wardrobe right now (no matter the cost) what would it be?
A leather coat.
4) What tip can you give someone who has not yet experienced consignment shopping?
If you like the way something looks but it isn’t in your size, try it on anyway. Consigned pieces will often surprise you with how they fit.
5) What do you consider the most important essential pieces in a wardrobe?
A well tailored blazer, a nice pair jeans and some black pumps.
6) What do you like about SalvEdge Boutique and consignment shopping?
I really like the quality of the pieces at SalvEdge. I find most items look like they are brand new.
17th Avenue July Fashion Ambassador: Justine
1) How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as unique. I love to mix modern and vintage pieces to create one-of-a-kind looks. My style has been evolving over the past few years; in terms of my current vintage selection I’m playing around with more 1960s-70’s pieces versus 1920s-1950s (which I chose for many years).
2) What influence does fashion have in your every day life?
Fashion has a huge influence in my every day life; it’s another form of artistic self-expression. I tend to pick whatever pieces I’m drawn to in the morning. Some days I may go with a more boho-rocker vibe, other days more soft and feminine – it depends on my mood (and the weather)!
3) If you could buy any one item to add to your wardrobe right now (no matter the cost) what would it be?
I would say a quality, statement kimono in maybe a luxurious velvet.
4) What tip can you give someone who has not yet experienced consignment shopping?
I would say to keep an open mind, and to have time and patience. Part of the thrill of consignment shopping is taking your time to go through each individual piece. I find it’s a much more enjoyable process when you have time to browse, try things on, and have fun!
5) What do you consider the most important essential pieces in a wardrobe?
I think a really good-fitting pair of pants/jeans is essential to making any outfit look and feel great. Alongside that, a few investment pieces like a quality jacket or blazer are always good to have to mix and match in your closet. You can always find cheaper tank tops and tees to phase in and out of your wardrobe, but having some staple pants and jackets that fit well (and last a few years) is so great.
6) What do you like about SalvEdge Boutique and consignment shopping?
I love that SalvEdge has quality, designer pieces at affordable prices. I always look forward to seeing the new inventory and browsing the shop.
