Last month the “Discovering Buddhism” class of 2022-2023 successfully completed their course, but the journey of discovery does not end here. For those eager to embark on the next stage of this enlightening path, stay tuned for the upcoming registration dates of “Exploring Buddhism”, which is set to commence in May 2024.
About Exploring Buddhism
Exploring Buddhism is the newest long-term study programme, developed by FPMT, the international organisation to which Jamyang Buddhist Centre London is affiliated. By engaging with in-depth study, we gain a complete view of the many aspects of Buddhist philosophy, psychology and practice, and how they fit together.
Exploring Buddhism is co-developed by senior FPMT teachers including Geshe Namdak, Geshe Legtsok and Venerable Joan Nicell. We’re especially pleased that this cycle will be run in collaboration with our dear FPMT family at Nalanda Monastery, Nagarjuna Centre Madrid and Maitreya Institute Amsterdam.

Below are a few testimonials from some of the students.
“The DB is certainly one of the best courses I have taken which has helped me in my self-development. The DB course is so well structured just like in a school syllabus, which helps me to understand these wonderful Buddhist philosophies better, link it all together and use them in my daily life. Geshe Namdak is, without a doubt, a great teacher full of wisdom. I find him easy to understand, probably because he has a good combination of Western and Eastern education. I highly recommend this course to anyone who is Buddhist or non-Buddhist and who is in search of spirituality and true happiness. For me, this course is certainly a great start to my own long journey.”
-Shambhu Manandhar
“The FPMT Discovering Buddhism Course, as taught at the Jamyang Buddhist Centre London, has been a great experience for me. Geshe Tenzin Namdak’s educational approach balances the three aspects of positive mental transformation, thanks to his capacity to integrate traditional Tibetan Buddhism with his understanding of the needs of learners such as myself who live in a multi-cultural and secularizing world.” – Abelardo Brenes, Ph. D
“Geshe Namdak has got a skilful?and grounded way to explain the teachings also for “non-Buddhist” listeners. Discovering Buddhism helped me see things in a different way. Sometimes it can be challenging, but definitely?worth exploring, as the nature of the mind is extremely?interesting?and shedding?light in certain aspects of life can only be beneficial?for us and others.?“
