“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you…” — James 4:8

There is a stirring, a deep and holy call—an invitation from the heart of God. It is not just a whisper; it is a longing. He is calling His people to come closer, to step away from the noise, the clutter, the distractions, and to make room for Him.

In the busyness of life, we find space for what we treasure. We make time for what we truly desire. We structure our days around our priorities, whether we acknowledge them or not. But the question remains: Have we made room for Jesus?

The Call to Lay It Down

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33

Jesus does not compete for space in our lives. He does not force His way into our schedules. He gently knocks (Revelation 3:20), waiting for us to open the door, to clear the clutter, and to prepare a dwelling place for Him within us.

There is an urgency in His call today:
“Lay it down.”
“Move it over.”
“Come away and be with Me.”

What is taking up the space meant for Him? Is it the endless scroll through social media? The relentless chase for career success? The emotional baggage we refuse to release? Our habits, our plans, our egos?

Whatever it is, if it’s crowding Jesus out, it must move.

Creating Space for His Presence

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

When Jesus was born, there was no room for Him in the inn (Luke 2:7). Today, He still searches for hearts that will prepare a place for Him—not as an occasional guest, but as Lord and King.

Making room for Jesus is an act of surrender. It is a realignment of our hearts and priorities. It means intentionally:

  • Setting aside time for prayer and communion with Him.
  • Clearing mental clutter by casting our anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7).
  • Releasing control and trusting that His plans are better than ours (Jeremiah 29:11).
  • Living with an awareness that our lives are His dwelling place (1 Corinthians 6:19).

When we truly make room, we find that everything else falls into place. Peace replaces anxiety. Clarity overtakes confusion. Intimacy with God deepens.

Will You Make Room?

Jesus is calling. He is not a distant Savior but a present King longing to abide with us. Will you make room?

Today, let this be your prayer:

“Lord, I lay down everything that takes Your place in my life. My ambitions, my worries, my distractions—I move them aside. I want You. I need You. Please, live in me. I make room for You, Jesus.”

The invitation is open. Will you respond?
