Oops! It was not a night to remember for Diane Warren at the just-concluded Oscar Awards, even though she made history. The singer-songwriter, who did not clinch a win for her 16th Oscar nomination, has now set a new record in the process.

Diane Warren was nominated for Best Original Song for her track "The Journey" from the movie "The Six Triple Eight."

The vocalist's latest loss ferries her into the category of the most Oscar losses without a win in the show's history. It ties her with sound engineer Greg P. Russell, who earlier bagged the most official nominations, lost without a single win.

Russell has received a total of 17 nominations, according to some sources. However, the Academy Board of Governors revoked his nomination for "13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi." As a result,  he officially holds 16 nominations, the same number he shares with Warren.

In a recent conversation with Warren in Los Angeles, TMZ shared that the vocalist expressed her hopes that the 16th attempt would finally bring her luck. She humorously mentioned that she might collapse from the excitement if she did win.

Warren's Oscar miss was not the only loss she has experienced in 2025. As shared by The Blast, the year began with her 30-year-old beach house going up in flames.

The musician made the revelation on her Instagram on January 8 when she posted the picture of a rock in the water.

In her recent post, Warren shared a poignant farewell to a cherished rock dedicated to her late friend, Leah, which she had photographed from her beach house that was tragically lost in the wildfires.

After nearly 30 years of memories in that house, she expressed her sorrow, stating that the rock and the house seemed to have perished in the fire. However, despite the devastating loss, Warren found solace in the animals and the rescue ranch remaining unharmed.

She noted a rainbow shining on the rock, interpreting it as a symbol of hope for all affected by the tragedy. "The animals and the rescue ranch are OK, tho, which is the most important thing. Stay safe, everyone," she wrote.

Beyond her losses, there are many more fascinating things about Warren, and it is a fact that her prolific writings of love songs do not reflect on her person.

As confirmed by PEOPLE, Warren has written some of the biggest and best love songs to top the pop charts since the '80s: "If I Could Turn Back Time" by Cher, "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion, and "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.

In real life, the songwriter admitted that her first and only love is music, with no room for any other person. "I don't want to be in a relationship. It's not for me. It never was," she declared in her newly released documentary "Diane Warren: Relentless," which hit cinemas on January 10.

She believes that being in love is not a prerequisite for writing a great love song. She even compared the songwriting process to method acting, emphasizing that when she creates these songs, she fully embodies the character and experiences all the emotions connected to it.

In the documentary, the Grammy-winning artist reveals that she has had "one boyfriend" in her past, explicitly referring to producer Guy Roche.

The producer reminisced about her early encounter with Warren, recalling that he had just arrived from Tahiti. At the time, she had heard he was doing demos for other songwriters, which led her to enlist him to create a demo together.

"We were the closest for a while, working and producing her demos and later producing records with her," he noted. Clive Davis, the legendary founder of Arista Records, also commented on the remarkable talent of songwriter Warren, who has had many of her songs recorded by his artists.

He highlighted her unique ability to capture the essence of love and heartbreak in her writing despite lacking personal experience in romantic relationships. According to Davis, Warren masterfully explores the emotional depths of love and its complexities, weaving fantasy into her lyrics.

The documentary also explored her rebellious teenage years, which included time in juvenile detention for smoking pot after her parents turned her in.

It chronicled her challenging climb to success in the pop songwriting industry, revealing her determination when she had to plead with Cher to record her famous song, "If I Could Turn Back Time."

Amid speculation about her sexual orientation, Warren candidly declared: "I'm straight; everybody thinks I'm gay, But I don't care what I am. Whatever. It doesn't matter."

Ultimately, she asserts that her focus remained on her music, stating, "I really put blinders on... my work, my work, my work. Any time something gets in the way, I just kind of block it out."

Hopefully, the next Oscars will be the charm for the excellent Diane Warren!
