The Merrell Moab 3 Mid Waterproof hiking boot is my missing puzzle piece for winter footwear. I have snow boots (The North Face Shellista), muck boots (Bogs), and a lovely pair of L.L. Bean hiking boots that are sturdy but too stiff around the ankle. I needed a pair of lightweight yet warm and supportive boots with excellent traction for the nature path I regularly take. While you can tell I love my new Merrell Moab boots in my video review, I asked my Facebook followers for their feedback. Here’s what they had to say:
“Love them! I bought them a few months ago. I’ve worn them to work, local walks and snowy walks in NH and VT woods. Super comfortable to wear right out of the box. Plenty of room in the toe box to not put pressure on my ball of my foot since I have hallux rigidus.” Facebook follower Katie

If there’s one caveat to heed while considering the Merrell Moab, it’s the sizing. Some reviews mention that it runs a little short. I considered ordering up a half size from my regular 10 (yes, Merrell carries a 10.5), but decided to keep them because I didn’t want them too roomy when I wear thinner socks come spring. However, if you plan to wear them with orthotics, I do advise ordering up a whole or half size.
