Another round of stimulus checks is coming. (You might have already gotten one even.)

However, this time, the federal government isn’t involved — and whether or not you qualify depends on where you live and other factors.

Seventeen states have approved their own stimulus boosts — in much smaller amounts than previous federal checks — to help residents deal with rising inflation.

The checks vary depending on state, anywhere from $50 to more than $1,000, and may also have other requirements.

Here is a list of states offering stimulus checks as of August 2022.

California

Californian couples who file jointly can receive a $700 payment and individual taxpayers can receive $350 if they don’t have dependents. Both need to make less than $150,000 annually to qualify.

Eligible households can also receive another $350 if they have qualifying dependents. Payments will be issued between October 2022 and January 2023.
