When we first went into quarantine earlier this year, we were sure it would just be a few weeks. A couple months, at most. Well here we are, nine months later, still quarantined. And were tired. Tired of doomscrolling through all of our social accounts. Tired of the random puzzles paint-by-numbers, and so over the roller skates we purchased at the beginning of quarantine with lofty goals.

The burnout is very real, but with a vaccine at least several months out, we still have plenty of time to fill while we take one for the team at home. Might as well make it worthwhile, right? Here are eight hobbies and activities you can safely do at home to make some extra cash.

1. Make $10 Passing Judgements on True Crime

Attorneys like to pre-try a case in front of a mock jury to help strengthen their arguments for the real deal. You can become one of these e-jury members and earn a few bucks in exchange for your time.

Websites like ejury.com pay $5-$10 per case, with the average case taking about 35 minutes. Its not a ton of money, but think of all the interesting stories you could hear!

2. Let This App Pay You up to $83 When You Win Solitaire Games

Lots of us already play Solitaire on our phones for fun or just to pass the time. Want to see if you can win money at it?

Theres a free iPhone app called Solitaire Cash that lets you play for real money. You could get paid up to $83 per win.

You might be thinking: Theres got to be a catch. This is definitely one of those spammy apps, right?

Wrong. There really isnt a catch. Sure, you can pay to play in some higher-stakes tournaments, but theres no pressure. And, in fact, there arent even any annoying ads.

With each game, youll battle it out against at least five other players. Everyone gets the same deck, so winning is totally a matter of skill. The top three players who solve the deck fastest can win real money anywhere from $1 to $83.

Over on the App Store, it has over a million downloads and more than 15,000 ratings, averaging 4.7 stars (out of 5).

To get started, just download the free app and start playing your first game immediately.

3. Add $225 to Your Wallet Just for Watching the News

Its been a historic year in news, and were all constantly refreshing for the latest updates. You probably know more than one news-junkie who fancies themselves an expert in respiratory illness or a political mastermind.

And research companies want to pay you to keep watching. You could add up to $225 a month to your pocket by signing up for a free account with InboxDollars. Theyll present you with short news clips to choose from every day, then ask you a few questions about them.

You just have to answer honestly, and InboxDollars will continue to pay you every month. This might sound too good to be true, but its already paid its users more than $56 million.

It takes about one minute to sign up, and start getting paid to watch the news.

4. Play Free Scratch-off Tickets

Theres something so satisfying about those gas station scratch-off tickets, but its better to avoid them because, well, thats not Penny Hoarding.

Instead, try scratching for free using an app called Lucktastic. Each day, it releases a new assortment of digital scratch-off tickets. Lucktastic says instant wins range from $1 to $2,500.

You can also earn tokens that you can exchange for free gift cards to retailers including Amazon, Walmart, Sephora and more.

The app is supported by advertising, which allows it to keep the payouts high and the games free. For more info, check out Lucktastic here.

5. Earn $60 to Make the Internet Better

Basically, companies will pay regular folks like us to offer feedback on websites and apps. Hows the design? Can you find your way around? Have questions that arent answered?

You can make up to $60 per test through sites like UserTesting. The best part? You dont need any user-testing experience just a solid internet connection.

6. Get Paid $5 For Your Opinions Today (and Even More Later)

We know you have LOTS of opinions right now. Might as well get paid for them!

Sure, there are a lot of online survey sites out there. The catch is that, with a lot of them, it takes forever before you can actually get paid. You find yourself taking tons of surveys before you ever see a single cent if you even qualify for the survey at all.

Thats why we like a website called Survey Junkie. It rewards you no matter what even if you dont qualify. And it lets you cash out a lot faster than its competition you could even get paid today.

You get points for every survey you take, and once youve earned 500 points, you can cash out and get your first $5. A lot of sites make you wait until youve earned $20 or $25 worth of points before you claim your earnings. You can choose to get paid via PayPal, direct deposit or with digital gift cards.

No, you wont necessarily get rich taking surveys online, but its an easy way to make a little extra cash while youre killing time. Signing up takes about one minute, and youll immediately earn points just for creating your account. Youll be that much closer to cashing out.

7. Earn up to $69/Hour as a Small Business Owner

Can you open an excel spreadsheet? Does earning $69 an hour sound appealing? How about the freedom to work remotely while helping others succeed?

Those are the perks of working as a bookkeeper, says Ben Robinson, a CPA and business owner who teaches others to become virtual bookkeepers through online courses called Bookkeepers.com.

You dont have to be an accountant or even really good at math to be successful in this business. In fact, all you need are decent computer skills and a passion for helping business owners tackle real-world problems. The ability to stay moderately organized is helpful, too.

You can make up to $69 an hour, according to data from Intuit, the creator of QuickBooks, and you have no commute. Its a great opportunity for parents who want a part-time job, recent college grads or anyone who wants to bring in real money working from home.

Robinson shares what it takes to be a virtual bookkeeper, plus tips for making this career work for you in his free class at Bookkeepers.com. If you stick with the classes, you could be running your own business in just a few months.

8. Get Paid up to $600/Week to Drop off Starbucks

Your city is filled with two things: Starbucks, and people who want Starbucks.

An app called Doordash will pay you to pick up and deliver an extra latte when youre already out and getting your caffeine fix. And its not just coffee. You can deliver from Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Five Guys and hundreds of other restaurants in your area.

With Doordash, you set your own hours and work as much or little as you want, meaning how much you make is up to you.

Youll earn money for each delivery, plus tips. Jose Neri, from California, reports earning $500 to $600 a week working just lunches and dinners.

The best part? No passengers that grande, no-whip macchiato will be the only thing to hear your beautiful singing voice.

If you sign up for Doordash now, its possible to get your first paycheck this week.
