All nine California House Republicans voted yes on the resolution that seeks to cut $880 billion from Medicaid, impacting millions of their constituents
SACRAMENTO, CA – Health Access California, the statewide health care consumer advocacy coalition, released the following statement following tonight’s vote by Congress to move forward a budget resolution that seeks to cut $880 billion from Medicaid, impacting 15 million Californians who rely on the program.
“It’s unconscionable that all nine of Californians Republican congressional members voted to pass this harmful budget that will cut health care for millions of their constituents,” said Amanda McAllister-Wallner, interim executive director of Health Access California. “This vote advances a dangerous agenda that threatens the health care that 15 million Californians rely on. These cuts would rip care away from children, seniors, disabled Californians, and more while raising costs for everyone, all to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy. This is just the beginning – we will be pushing our California congressmembers at every turn to put the health of their constituents first.”
