8 Plans You Should Make For New Islamic Year 1443 A.H. It's almost One thousand , four hundred and forty-two years (1443) after the Hijra (migration of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions from Makkah to Madīnah). Our prayers at this moment is that, "May Almighty Allah protect us and let us witness the birth of the new year in peace and joy with our loved ones". However, it is necessary for every Muslim to see every advancement as an opportunity to get closer to Allah swt in all ways, because no one knows when he/she will draw the last breath. So, what are your plans for 1443 A.H? We have highlighted 8 things you should put into your plans for 1443 A.H: 1. Learn: Life is full of lessons. Think about everything you passed through in 1442 A.H, analyse and learn from them. They were meant to serve as a guide for you in the future, which is why you'll find in many of the Qur'an verses where Allah mentioned that, Do they not reflect in their own minds? Q30:8, Learn from this, all of you with insight Q59:2. 2. Realize and Repent : A great saint, Ibn-Al'Arabī once said in one of his books (Kitābul'Wasōyah) that, whenever you recall a sin you've committed, (quickly) repent at the end of the rembrance and seek for Allah's forgiveness. Repentance is an act of the believers which is highly commended by Allah swt. Each breath should be an opportunity for you to turn back and get closer to Allah. Realize your mistakes and repent, you'll Always find Allah as the One who forgives all sins. And repent to Him [and] He will let you enjoy good provision. Q11:3. 3. Good Deeds : Don't ever stop doing good, infact, let in increase in this coming year. It doesn't end at giving charity alone, it involves your characters towards others, your speech, the way you address them and how you look at them. Charity can easily be forgotten after a while, but, the way you treat others often leave a strong mark on their hearts. Allah says, And we shall increase the rewards of those who do good. Q42:15. 4. Fix: Isn't it time you take your relationship serious? Your family should be your top priority. It is not just about providing everything for them at their request but being together with them, always. Some are close but far while some are far but close. Fix your relationship, don't cut the ties, tight the loosed nuts, and most importantly, your relationship with Allah. And stand steadfast as you've been commanded Q42:15. It was you and Him, when you were nothing, it will soon be Him and you, when everything vanishes, so, let this saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ be what you remember every time: Turn to Allah in prosperity , He will turn to you in adversity. (At-Tirmidhi) 5. Earn : Don't just rely on Allah without putting up any effort. Try to work and earn as much as you can and more than what you had in 1442 A.H, that will surely be another progress in life, but, remember that your earnings are worthless, if they are gathered from what Allah has prohibited, such as betting, bribery, looting, theft e.t.c. Be a God-fearing Muslim and be among the pious. Let your earnings be from Halal source and Allah swt will put more blessings in it. Allah swt says that, So, eat from the good and lawful things Allah has provided for you Q16:114. 6. Associate: The best of those whom you should associate yourself with are those who often remember Allah swt. These are the best companions. On the day of Judgement, man will say that : Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend. He led me away from the remembrance (of Allah) after it had come to me. And the evil one is a betrayer to mankind. Q25:28-29. Be friend of those who frequently remember Allah, and let those who do otherwise be freed. The believing men and the believing women allies of one another Q9:71. 7. Knowledge: When will you start learning the Holy Qur'an? Who told you it is late? If it never too late to earn, then it is never too late to learn. This is the only property that stays with you here in this life and hereafter. Read: 5 Important Things You Should Know Before Naming Your Child. Learning never ends, but the best of all is the Knowledge of the Holy Qur'an, that is why Allah urged the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to seek for more knowledge. And say,"My Lord, increase me in knowledge". If you've learnt the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, advance to the understanding of its meaning, then, into some of the Hadiths of The Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. That is not the end, but this will ease future confusion, and it will establish certainty in you. 8. Appreciate: Thank Allah more often, it costs you nothing but brings you everything. Always appreciate Him for all His bounties and mercy upon you, the hidden and the manifest. He kept you to see this day, shouldn't you say "Alhamdulillah"? And be grateful for the favour of Allah, if it is [indeed] Him that you worship. It's just about few hours to the New Islamic Year, Hijra Calendar 1443.
