At just 20 years old, Stevie Matthew is already emerging as one of the most promising voices in the new wave of R&B. Singer, producer, and songwriter, he’s got it all, especially a deep passion for the roots of a complex genre that’s long overdue for a fresh revival. He recently signed a multi-million dollar record deal and is gearing up for a defining year, with the release of his highly anticipated debut album.

His latest single, “All the Time in the World,” featuring the renowned Eric Bellinger, is a soulful summer anthem written and produced entirely by Stevie himself. It’s an intentional love declaration, as he tells us.

We had the chance to sit down with Stevie, who opened up about his creative process, always born from real-life experiences, and how he picks his collaborators based on authentic creative chemistry rather than business strategies.

With new singles on the horizon, Stevie Matthew’s journey is just getting started, and if “All the Time in the World” is his opening statement, it’s impossible not to get excited about what’s coming next.

How did “All the Time in the World” feat. Eric Bellinger, come about?

“All the Time in the World” is a record that I wrote and produced. I’ve been in the studio with Eric recently, and when I sent him the song, he hit me right back – automatic yes.

What were you aiming to convey with this soulful, nostalgic summer track?

The record is really about romance. It’s me letting her know she’s the one. It’s intimate love—being intentional to assure her all my time, all my attention. I tried to say that through the whole record, with the lyrics, melodies, and the strings.

Is there any dream collaborator left for you?

Collaborating is all about chemistry for me. When the music is right and the magic in the studio is right, it can be a young star or a legend, and it’s a dream collaboration. I have some dream collabs on my upcoming singles and record.

How do you intentionally choose collaborators?

I try not to focus on collaboration and to stay creating because the magic is in the chemistry when a record I make connects with another artist that we get to have together.

Biggest musical influences, and how do you balance classic with contemporary?

I’ve spent so many years studying and being inspired by my favorite artists like Stevie Wonder, D’Angelo, & Prince. It crafted my sound, so at this point, when I’m creating, I’m just making what feels like me.

At 20, signing a multimillion-dollar deal and releasing your debut—how are you navigating it all?

My recent record deal felt like the perfect way to expand my team. I stay focused on creating, so I’m always in the studio, working on visuals or rehearsing. My focus is all on my upcoming debut album.

What inspires you outside of music—books, movies, or personal moments?

Everything I write is straight from my life; it’s a lot of late nights. I’ve got party records, love songs, highs, and heartbreaks; it’s all in the music.

What can fans expect from Stevie Matthew this year? Any teasers?

I’m excited to put my full debut as an artist out into the world: singles, collaborations, performances, visuals, and a full-length record. It’s been a journey bringing this to life, and I can’t wait for people to experience it. I’ve also been working on upcoming projects for some of my favorite artists, which you’ll hear later this year.
