Lt Gen Jonathon Riley, former commander of British Forces in Sierra Leone and Iraq and Deputy Commander of all Nato forces in Afghanistan. has penned a piece that at first glance I wrote off as conspiratorial nonsense but found it intriguing enough to read through and found it is anything but. Rather the good general is cataloging efforts to control the weather by people that think it is the only viable response to “climate change.” Yep, there are people out there that think that we can control the weather – not that we can inadvertently alter the climate, a long-term and global thing – but the weather, making it rain, make it cold, that sort of thing. It is as if no one remembers the lessons of kudsu or the Burmese pythons in Florida.
