Ohio STEM Learning Network Across Ohio, schools continue to demonstrate what is possible when STEM and STEAM education are implemented with purpose, authenticity, and a focus on student-centered learning.
Ohio’s STE(A)M School Designation is more than a recognition. It is a commitment to providing students with meaningful, interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect academic content to real-world challenges. Designated schools foster environments where students engage in inquiry, collaboration, and innovation while developing the skills needed for future careers.

Strong foundations and continued growth
Schools that earn or renew designation demonstrate a deep commitment to continuous improvement. Whether newly designated or redesignated, these schools prioritize authentic learning experiences, strong instructional practices, and meaningful connections to industry and community partners. Through these efforts, students gain access to career-connected learning opportunities, mentorship, and real-world applications that prepare them for success beyond the classroom.
Designation is awarded by the Ohio STEM Committee, with support from the Ohio STEM Learning Network and the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, and must be renewed every five years to ensure that schools continue to meet the high expectations of STEM and STEAM education.
Recognizing schools recommended in May
At the May meeting, the Ohio STEM Committee approved recommendations for both initial designation and redesignation, recognizing schools that exemplify high-quality STEM and STEAM learning across the state.

- Crestview Elementary (Akron Region)
- Indian Hill Middle School (Southwest Ohio)
- Noble Academy (Central Ohio)
- St. Benedict Catholic School (Northeast Ohio)
Redesignated schools
- Kinder Garden School, West Chester (Southwest Ohio)
- STEAMM Academy @Hartford (Akron Region)
- Waterville Primary School (Northwest Ohio)

Together, these newly designated and redesignated schools continue to strengthen Ohio’s leadership in STEM and STEAM education, ensuring students are prepared not only for what comes next, but to shape it.
We look forward to celebrating these schools alongside others from across the state at the Ohio STEM Innovation Summit on June 9, where their achievements will be formally recognized.Â
