There are now 28 NFL teams that can be completely focused on hiring a new head coach or general manager or preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft as their offseasons are fully underway.
Quarterbacks Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, and two-way star Travis Hunter are considered to be among the top prospects for the draft.
However, one draft analyst recently said another standout is the top player in this year’s draft.
“For me Abdul Carter is the best player in the draft. … To have a guy at that level of a talent, I’d be all in on that,” Daniel Jeremiah of NFL Network said on “The Pat McAfee Show.”

The linebacker is arguably at least the best defensive player on the board, with Hunter also a coveted prospect as a cornerback.
While at Penn State this season, Carter was an absolute force and he helped them reach the College Football Playoff semifinals.
The All-American and Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year recorded 43 total tackles, 12 sacks, 24 tackles for loss and two forced fumbles.
He is likely to be picked in the 10 of the draft, which will take place at Lambeau Field.
The Tennessee Titans at No. 1, Cleveland Browns at No. 2 and New England Patriots at No. 4 could be very interested in adding some edge help to their defensive line. (The New York Giants at No. 3 are likely looking for a quarterback.)
As the NFL Scouting Combine approaches, fans, executives and coaches will be able to get a closer look at Carter as he prepares for his bright future in the league.
