The Washington Commanders were confident heading into the NFC Championship.
After all, they were significant underdogs in their previous game and managed to take down the Detroit Lions, the No. 1 seed in the conference who were widely viewed as unbeatable.
Despite this emotional win over the Lions, the Commanders were unable to recreate that magic in the game before the Super Bowl, getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles.
This was an unfortunate end to Jayden Daniels’ dazzling rookie year, which has received acclaim from many top analysts.
Daniels is the undisputed leader of the Commanders’ offense heading into the 2025 season, giving fans hope that this season wasn’t a fluke.
This loss still stings nonetheless, and Daniels didn’t mince words in the postgame press conference, as NBC4 Sports shared on X.
Daniels had several comments about this game, including, “It just sucks… But I couldn’t be prouder of the guys in the locker room,” as well as “I don’t want to have a feeling like this again.”

In these comments, fans could see and hear the frustration in his voice, knowing that he tried everything he could to bring them to the title game.
Daniels will now watch the Super Bowl from his couch instead of playing in the game, which should be extra motivation for him next year.
Will Daniels make it to the title game next year with another season under his belt?
