France’s final Disney Store to close

Renovations to Disneyland Paris’ Disney Store have begun, reports Disneyphile, with one the vintage façade of one entrance already removed, and its windows covered over. Located in Disney Village, the shopping area at Disneyland Paris, it was a Disney Store in name only, run by the parks directly, as opposed to the team behind the retail chain in that country.

Disneyphile’s story shares all the 1992 glory of the store, styled with characters from Disney Afternoon. The French site describes the store theme as the ties between France and the United States (a theme shared by much of the original Disney Village), the conquest of space, and the Disneyland Paris itself.

They report that starting in a few weeks, the store will close in phases until the summer, reopening near the end of the year as Disney Wonders. The product variety isn’t expected to change.
