Logitech G ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station

This is Logitech G’s newest gaming gear: the ASTRO A50 X LIGHTSPEED Wireless Gaming Headset + Base Station. The headset is famous for its PLAYSYNC technology, making it easy to connect and switch between Xbox, PS5, and PC with a single button.

The PRO-G Graphene Audio Driver technology is another important part. It makes gaming audio work better. The 24-bit LIGHTSPEED wireless technology makes sure that consoles work like pros.

Designed To Play

You can connect all of your game libraries to all of your systems with the touch of a button on the A50 X. With connectivity, audio, and wireless fidelity improvements that have never been seen before, the A50 X plays at its best no matter what, how, or where you want to play.

Heart of The Perfect Setup

The A50 X + Base Station is designed to give gamers who use more than one system the smoothest possible gaming experience. The magnetic charging cradle that clicks into place ensures that the A50 X is always charged and ready to go.

You can connect to your devices from up to 15 meters away just take it out of the base station. When it’s time for a break, just click it back into the always-on cradle. The LED status info panel shows you which system you’re connected to and how much of your 24-hour battery life is left.

Platforms

Logitech’s PlaySync feature is one of the most interesting new things about the A50 X. Aside from the PC, it makes it easy for the headset to connect to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 consoles. It couldn’t do that with its predecessor, and you had to buy a separate base station for each platform.

That problem is now behind us. Any platform you want to use the Astro A50 X with will be able to connect to its single base station. A button on the base station lets you switch between modes, which we’ve seen on other modern headsets too.

PRO-G Graphene Audio Driver

The PRO-G GRAPHENE Audio Driver is used in this headset. This 40-mm graphene diaphragm with a live edge suspension is designed to provide better sound quality, with more accurate sound reproduction, better signal timing, and less distortion. This technology helps gamers find and identify sound objects in the game environment more accurately.

Lightspeed Microphone

The A50 X also has a built-in high-resolution 16-bit, 48 kHz LIGHTSPEED microphone. This is the first Logitech G headset with such advanced microphone features. This addition widens the range of sounds that can be captured, making the quality and clarity even better.

Sustainable A50 X

The A50 X supports protecting the environment. It has at least 35% post-consumer recycled content and packaging made from FSC-certified forests. The product is also certified as carbon neutral, which fits with Logitech G’s stated goal of reducing its impact on the environment.

Pricing and Availability

Logitech says that the headset will be available sometime in the first half of 2024. Okay, that’s not very clear. More information will likely come up as the date gets closer. From December 5, 2023, you can pre-order the new A50 X on Logitech’s website. It will cost $380. Also, like the last generation, it will almost certainly be sold at big stores like Best Buy and Amazon.

Even so, the Astro A50 X looks like it will be a good improvement over its predecessor since it has better graphene drivers and a battery life of 24 hours on a full charge. We’ll try to have more information about the headset when it comes out next year.
