You can (technically) play 'Starfield' on Meta Quest 3 now

Xbox's patented game streaming tech is now available on Meta Quest headsets, as long as you have a Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

Did you try out Starfield earlier this year and find it boring like I did? Well, maybe playing it in VR (sort of) will fix that.

To be clear, it's not actually being ported to VR, but you can play it — and anything else on Xbox's Game Pass streaming service — on a Meta Quest headset starting right now, thanks to the new Xbox Cloud Gaming beta app.

Simply download the app on your Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, or Meta Quest Pro headset, pair a supported controller, log in with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, and you're golden.

Again, this does not mean supported games like Starfield, Forza Motorsport, and Halo Infinite will be playable in full stereoscopic 3D like a regular VR game. Instead, they'll be displayed in 2D on a virtual display that Quest 3 and Pro users can digitally place in their actual rooms using passthrough. Rather than having to install each game individually, you'll be streaming them from Microsoft's cloud servers, so a high-speed internet connection is paramount to making this work properly.

This is yet another way to play Xbox games without actually owning an Xbox. It may not be the most natural or intuitive way to experience something like Halo Infinite, but it's probably pretty neat all the same.
