John Krasinski writes, directs, and stars in this film about what happens to imaginary friends when their kids grow up.

A man, a young girl, and a massive teddy bear sit at a table.

With his upcoming film IF, writer-director John Krasinski swaps the aliens and horror of A Quiet Place for cuddly imaginary creatures and whimsical childhood fantasy.

The movie introduces us to a young girl (Cailey Fleming) who begins to see IFs (or "Imaginary Friends") who have been left behind by the kids who dreamt them up in the first place. One such IF is a massive fuzzy purple blob voiced by Steve Carell, marking an Office reunion for him and Krasinski.

Joining Carell and Fleming is a whole host of stars, including Ryan Reynolds, Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Maya Rudolph, Jon Stewart, Bobby Moynihan, Sam Rockwell, Sebastian Maniscalco, Christopher Meloni, Richard Jenkins, and Awkwafina. Oh, and there's an IF who looks like a very sad, melting marshmallow.

IF hits theaters May 17.
