On Wednesday, 15th January 2025, The Tonic Technologies announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer in the person of Emmanuel Sohe

The Tonic Technologies (TTT), is home to Cardtonic— a trailblazer fintech product that simplifies payments for users. On Cardtonic, users can pay bills, buy affordable gadgets, get Virtual Dollar Cards, and exchange vouchers and gift cards, both in Nigeria and Ghana.

In a light-hearted interview with the new CEO, he walked us through his time so far with TTT, starting off as a Business Developer in 2020 and now, wearing the CEO hat. With grounded skills in product management, Emmanuel has quickly established himself as one of the tech trendsetters with whom to be reckoned.

While the talented product luminary has contributed to the tech space, especially FinTech, over the years, one might wonder what his life is like outside work.

“I watch football or episodes of The Morning Show,” he shared. “My favourite football club is Arsenal 🥹(God save us.)” He also enjoys going to the gym and taking walks. Through the interview, we discovered even more interesting details about the newly-appointed CEO:

  • What’s the most unexpected song on your playlist right now?

Emmanuel: “I’m pretty intentional about my playlist and the songs I listen to. But if unexpected means what no one expects that I will be listening to right now, then that will be “Uyo Meyo” by Teni. It’s an old tune, but I still listen to it almost daily.”

  • If your leadership style were a meme, which one would it be?

Emmanuel: “And if you don’t do well, too, I will say it. I’m high on feedback.”

  • What advice would you give to your 21-year-old self?

Emmanuel: “Life is not hard; you should learn to let your guard down with people and trust more.”

  • If you could invent a fintech app for young people, what would it do?

Emmanuel: “Of course, what I am currently building—  Cardtonic. But maybe with an extra feature to connect users who want to use our cards on e-commerce platforms with direct suppliers of the goods.”

As Emmanuel Sohe leads TTT as CEO in its new growth phase, the company stays committed to innovation, customer satisfaction, and excellence.

The new CEO not only promised to keep up the good work, but also mentioned to introduce more exciting features on Cardtonic and continue to uphold TTT’s give back culture through Upskill and Cardtonic Cares.
