Who wouldn't want their own emotional support demon?! Emotional Support Demon is a Hazy IPA from Fargo, ND’s Drekker Brewing.From their website: Caught in your feels? Same. Emotional Support Demon is a hazy IPA packed with Azacca and Simcoe Cryo hops, flinging your taste buds onto a flavor rollercoaster of overripe cantaloupe, mango hi-chew gum and candied pineapple. It won’t fix your problems… but it will sit with you while you ignore them! 7.2% ABVAppearance: Hazy with a deep yellowish-orange kind of body to it - completely opaque, of course. The IPA has a thick snow-white frothy head on top that diminishes pretty quickly leaving behind a decent lacing of bubbles on the glass.Aroma: I’ve sampled this a few times and each time I’m getting a black liquorice aroma at the beginning. There’s a bit of a pineapple/melon fruitiness to it, a tad bit of leafy hop presence, and a tad bit of oaty creaminess at the end.Taste: Tropical right from the beginning - a melon/pineapple presence, followed by the presence of black liquorice again. There’s a very dank and leafy hop presence to it that brought me back memories of an IPA from Brasserie du Bas-Canada but I don’t remember which one (it’s been a year now). Fairly dry for a Hazy IPA, though it does have a tad bit of creaminess and definitely an abundance of an oaty cereal vibe to it. There’s also a bit of bitterness at the end, like a hint of pine. Overall Thoughts: Fairly tropical, surprisingly has black liquorice vibes to it.. though others may not get it at all, it’s quite leafy, very oaty, and has some melon/pineapple sweetness to it.
