462 Certifications Covered Under DGFT’s Export Promotion Mission
If you are an Indian exporter wondering whether your specific certification qualifies for reimbursement under the TRACE Scheme, this page is your answer. Every certification below is drawn from Annexure-I of the trade notice, which sets out the testing, inspections, and certifications eligible for reimbursement under the scheme.
This list is reviewed periodically by DGFT’s sub-committee, so certifications can be added or removed. Confirm current status before you file your Intent to Claim.

Certifications by Sector
The sections below cover the certifications exporters ask about most often. The full Annexure-I set is searchable in the table above. A single certification can apply to more than one sector: ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems) spans virtually every industry, while country marks like BIS or CCC apply narrowly to goods sold into that specific market.
Food and agriculture
Exporters here face some of the widest certification requirements on the list, covering food safety, organic status, and sustainability claims.
- HACCP: systematic food-safety management, often the baseline requirement for food and agri exports into regulated markets.
- FSSC 22000 and BRCGS: GFSI-recognised schemes that retailers and buyers commonly ask for in food manufacturing, processing, and packing.
- HALAL and KOSHER: religious-compliance certifications required by many buyers across the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Jewish markets.
- A.P: good agricultural practice standard for fresh produce, aquaculture, and floriculture.
- SQF (Safe Quality Food): GFSI-recognised safety and quality standard across primary production and processed food.
- USDA and NOP: US organic certification for products marketed as organic in the United States.
- Rainforest Alliance, Fair Trade, and Fair for Life: sustainability and ethical-sourcing claims common in coffee, tea, cocoa, and similar categories.
- MSC and BAP: responsible-sourcing standards for wild-caught and farmed seafood.
- WHO GMP: manufacturing-quality standard for food supplements and nutraceuticals.
Pharmaceuticals
Pharma exporters typically need country-specific drug approvals alongside manufacturing-quality certifications.
- FDA (US Food and Drug Administration): US market approval for medicines, food, and medical devices.
- Drug Master File (DMF): registration that supports drug and API approvals in regulated markets.
- WHO GMP: internationally recognised good manufacturing practice.
- DEL (Canada), ANVISA (Brazil), COFEPRIS (Mexico), ANMAT (Argentina): national drug-regulatory approvals for those markets.
- Batch Release Certificate: release testing for pharmaceutical product samples.
- Burkholderia cepacia test: microbiological safety testing for non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
Cosmetics
Cosmetics compliance varies sharply by destination, from ingredient-notification systems to organic-certification bodies.
- FDA MoCRA: US cosmetics facility registration and product listing.
- CPNP: EU notification portal for cosmetic products.
- NMPA: China cosmetics registration.

- ISO 22716: cosmetics good manufacturing practice.

Medical devices
Device certifications are among the most rigorous on the list, usually requiring both a quality-system certification and a market-specific registration.
- ISO 13485: quality management system for medical devices, generally a prerequisite for market access.
- EAC-MED: Eurasian conformity mark for medical devices.
- TGA (Australia), HSA (Singapore), MDEL/MDL (Canada): market-specific device registrations.
- Ethylene Oxide (EtO) residue test: sterilisation-residue safety testing.
Electronics
This is the largest sector by entry count, reflecting how many national conformity marks exist for wireless, electrical, and consumer electronics products.
- FCC (USA) and CE RoHS (Europe): mandatory conformity for electronics sold into those markets.
- BIS and CRS (India): mandatory registration for notified electronic goods.
- CCC: China Compulsory Certification.
- PSE (Japan), KC (South Korea), UKCA (UK): national conformity marks.

- ISO 26262: functional safety for automotive electronics.
- TISAX: automotive information-security assessment.
- ARAI (India) and ADR (Australia): vehicle and component approvals.
- e-Mark (ECE): European approval for vehicles, trailers, and automotive parts.
- NADCAP: special-process accreditation for aerospace and defence manufacturing.
- ISO 3834: welding quality management.

Don’t See Your Certification Listed?
The sections above highlight the certifications exporters ask about most. The full Annexure-I set of 462 is in the searchable table above, or you can Check the complete list (PDF Attachment).
If your certification genuinely isn’t on the list, it can still be proposed for inclusion. FIEO is collecting exporter submissions for missing international, country-specific, or sector certifications and takes them to DGFT for review.
FAQ
