The Disney Destiny is celebrating its first Halloween on the High Seas season with a new addition to the fleet’s collection of enchanting Pumpkin Trees.

Halloween has officially arrived aboard the Disney Destiny! As the ship embarks on its inaugural Halloween on the High Seas season, guests will find a brand-new Pumpkin Tree waiting for them in the Grand Hall.

Named Solara, the tree is inspired by the Disney Destiny’s “Heroes and Villains” theme. Clusters of hand-carved pumpkins represent both sides of Halloween, from the playful and silly to the dark and mysterious.

Solara comes to life with glowing lights, shifting fog effects, and an original backstory featuring storytellers Zayah and Gamble. Together, these details invite guests to choose their own Halloween adventure—and perhaps decide whether they feel more like a hero or villain.

The Pumpkin Trees Aboard Disney Cruise Line Ships

Disney Cruise Line’s Pumpkin Trees have become a beloved tradition during Halloween on the High Seas. Each ship has its own uniquely named tree, complete with distinctive decorations and storytelling details.

The collection currently includes:

The trees found aboard the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, and Disney Fantasy feature a more traditionally spooky appearance inspired by Ray Bradbury’s story The Halloween Tree. Newer ships have received designs that connect more closely to their individual themes.

Boo, for example, reflects the Disney Wish’s fairytale-inspired design, while Ginger brings an adventure-themed twist to the Disney Treasure. Solara now continues that tradition by incorporating the duality of heroes and villains into its design.

Halloween on the High Seas Aboard the Disney Destiny

Solara is part of the seasonal fun offered during the Disney Destiny’s first Halloween on the High Seas sailings, which began September 7, 2026.

Halloween on the High Seas cruises typically include themed decorations, special character appearances, costume opportunities, trick-or-treating, and festive entertainment. Exact activities may vary by ship and itinerary, but the towering Pumpkin Tree remains one of the most recognizable elements of the celebration—and a popular photo stop from the moment guests step onboard.

With the debut of Solara, the now has a Halloween tradition entirely its own.
