Community Spotlight: Swiftsure Ranch

About Swiftsure Ranch Sitting on 191 acres at the base of the Sawtooth Mountain Range, Swiftsure Ranch Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a nonprofit 501(c)3 with a special goal of encouraging the physical, mental and emotional well-being of children and adults with all types of challenges through equine-assisted activities and therapies.110 riders come to Swiftsure Ranch each week to participate in equine therapeutic riding and learn the skills to adapt to the world around them. This means that lessons are adapted to their unique physical, mental, and/or emotional needs. Riding can build character, confidence, and self-esteem in our riders, as well as give them opportunities to access the outdoors and recreation.Swiftsure Ranch’s mission is to empower individuals of all abilities to gain strength and freedom through therapeutic equine connections.Signature EventsSwiftsure Ranch has four signature events a year in order to support its programs and ensure that they remain free to participants. Those events are Blazing Pumpkins, Romp Around the Ranch, Swiftsure Derby, and the Cowboy Ball. The 31st Annual Cowboy Ball will be held on Thursday, July 14th, at 5:30 PM. It is quite possibly the most loved fundraising event in the Wood River Valley! Get ready to channel your best John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, or Calamity Jane! Buy your tickets here!Volunteer OpportunitiesThere are so many ways that you can help Swiftsure Ranch by volunteering, from assisting with lessons to working in the office or helping with special events. For years, our agents here at Coldwell Banker Distinctive Properties have volunteered the day after The Annual Cowboy Ball, as a part of our Distinctive Angels program. We help to clean up the arena, and stack/store the tables and chairs.Visit their website for more information on how to volunteer or donate to this amazing organization serving our community!
