Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 18 September 2026, attended the 18th Dialogue with the Federation of Japanese Chambers of Commerce and Industry in ASEAN (FJCCIA) in Manila, the Philippines, held on the sidelines of the 58th ASEAN Economic Ministers’ (AEM) Meeting and Related Meetings.
The Dialogue exchanged views on strengthening ASEAN–Japan economic co-creation, with discussions focusing on resilient supply chains and connectivity, green and sustainable industrial development, the digital economy and AI, and human capital, among others. Dr. Kao encouraged FJCCIA members to translate shared priorities and regional initiatives into practical outcomes for businesses.
