In 2024, there were 665 cases of migrant worker abuse, according to the most recent global analysis from the Business & Human Rights Resource Centre. 489 companies, including Meta, Uber, Carrefour, Honda, Toyota, and Foxconn, were linked to claims of wage theft, hazardous working conditions, exploitative recruitment fees, and forced labor across global supply chains. The research emphasizes how urgently improved protections for migrant workers, human rights due diligence, and regulatory enforcement are needed, especially in the manufacturing, construction, and agricultural industries.
