Looking to get your pups out in the alpine air? Celebrate July 4th Weekend at Crystal Mountain with Ruff Weekend, July 3-5. It’s the perfect excuse to head to Crystal Mountain.

One of our favorite summer traditions, Ruff Weekend gives dogs a peaceful place to escape the city during Fourth of July celebrations. Since Crystal Mountain doesn’t allow fireworks, you and your four-legged friend can trade the noise for fresh mountain air, scenic trails, and close-up views of Mount Rainier.

For outdoor enthusiasts who want to experience iconic Mount Rainier views with their four-legged friend tagging along, Crystal and its network of trails offer a great alternative to Mount Rainier National Park, where pets can’t join you on hiking trails. From hiking and sightseeing to disc golf and even fishing, there’s no shortage of ways to keep your pup entertained all day.

Our friends from Cascade Mountain Rescue Dogs will host educational workshops and lead dog-friendly guided hikes throughout the weekend. Join them for free, with donations encouraged. And don’t forget to stop by the summit for complimentary professional portraits with your pup.

Camp in B-Lot with your tent or RV, and turn Ruff Weekend into a full mountain getaway.

Plan Your July 4th Weekend at Crystal Mountain

Even if you can’t make Ruff Weekend, Crystal is a great place to explore with your dog all summer long.

Yep, your dog can ride the Mount Rainier Gondola, and they don’t even need a ticket! This option is perfect for older dogs or smaller pups that aren’t as excited to hike up the mountain. Once you reach the top, stop by the Summit House Patio, where leashed pets are welcome. Enjoy tasty bites from the restaurant, fill your pup’s water bowl, and take in the stunning views surrounding Crystal Mountain.
