Google DeepMind Chairman and Co-Founder Sir Demis Hassabis Confirmed for Ireland’s International AI Summit

Sir Demis Hassabis, chairman and co-founder of Google DeepMind and the chief scientist of Alphabet, as well as the chief executive officer and co-founder of Isomorphic Labs, has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at the International AI Summit 2026, taking place at the Royal Dublin Society (RDS) in Dublin on 14 October as part of Ireland’s Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

The confirmation brings one of the world’s most influential voices in artificial intelligence to the AI Summit that will examine how Europe can strengthen its competitiveness, accelerate the adoption of AI and build the capabilities needed to lead in the next era of responsible technological innovation. The Summit will also mark the launch of European AI Innovation Month, a Europe-wide programme led by the European Commission.

The addition of Hassabis further strengthens a programme that will bring together some of the most influential voices shaping the future of artificial intelligence, alongside senior European policymakers, global technology leaders, investors, researchers and innovative businesses from across Europe and beyond.
As one of the world’s leading AI research organisations, Google DeepMind has been responsible for major advances in scientific discovery, healthcare, biology, advanced AI systems and AI safety. Its work continues to shape developments across the global AI ecosystem.
