Our love story with HRTC

Our love story with HRTC

Hi this topic was in my drafts for I think around 3-4 years and finally i decided to give it a shape of proper blog as you know some love stories begin in cafés with flowers on tables and expensive dates planned weeks before. Ours began on HRTC buses. From 2014 to 2019, those green and white buses became our tiny moving world, our safe place, our date spot, our little universe on wheels. In Palampur, meeting freely was never easy for me because I was a local girl and every lane somehow knew every family. So instead of fancy restaurants or secret places, we chose journeys. Short journeys. Long journeys. Random journeys. Sometimes we would take a bus to Chamunda temple, sometimes to Kangra temple sometimes to the zoo and sometimes nowhere special at all. We would simply sit together in a bus from Kangra and come back again, treating the ride itself like a date. Looking outside the windows while mountains passed quietly beside us, sharing earphones, humming songs softly, stealing glances when nobody was watching that was our version of romance. No luxury. No grand gestures. Just togetherness. And somehow, that made everything feel more real. There was something sacred about those rides. Almost as if every journey carried a small blessing for us. Maybe that’s why temples became part of our routes so often. We never realized it back then, but perhaps God was silently travelling with us too, protecting a love that was still learning how to survive. We met in college uniforms, carrying bags full of books and tiredness. Sometimes during our gynecology duties, we would still meet wearing our duty dungarees, exhausted after long hours, yet excited just to sit beside each other for a bus ride. Love did not wait for perfect clothes, perfect timings, or perfect plans. It simply existed. The sound of the conductor asking for tickets, the smell of rain entering through half-open windows, the bumpy roads of Himachal, the old Bollywood songs playing in one earphone each all of it slowly stitched itself into our relationship. Even today, we still take buses together. And strangely, it feels exactly the same. Years have passed, life has changed, but sitting beside him during a long journey still feels like home to me. We still vibe to songs, still talk about random things, still sit quietly watching the roads pass by. The destination has never mattered much to us. Being together always did.HRTC was never just transportation in our story. It was our meeting place. Our privacy. Our comfort. Our cheapest date idea. Our companion through growing up together. It carried our laughter, our silences, our sleepy conversations, our tiny fights, our dreams, and our love through winding mountain roads and honestly, I’m glad our love story was never fancy, because now when I think about us, I don’t remember expensive gifts or glamorous dates.I remember bus tickets folded inside pockets. Temple bells in the distance.Cold mountain air entering through windows. Two tired students sitting together after duties and a love that kept travelling, no matter where the road went.Maybe that’s why even today, every HRTC bus feels a little personal to me. Like a small moving reminder that love does not always need luxury. Sometimes, it only needs a window seat and the right person beside you.I hope you all loved this version of my story. ...See you soon you all Till then Good bye Yours friendly Vet © Dreamingvet
