A coalition of activist groups calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump will host a “Remove the Regime†rally in DC on Saturday, November 22. Celtic punk band Dropkick Murphys will ship down to the District to headline the event.
Protestors will gather at the Lincoln Memorial for a rally starting at noon, which will include speakers and performances by Dropkick Murphys and singer-songwriter Earth to Eve. Organizers expect 10,000 people in attendance, a Flare spokesperson tells Washingtonian. At 7 PM, a ticketed wrap party will raise money for the coalition’s impeachment efforts, featuring live music by Earth to Eve, country act Gwen Levey and The Breakdown, DC punk band Allstrike, and the local Freedom Futures Collective. General admission tickets are still available for $46.90.
Saturday’s action marks the culmination of a three-day protest series hosted by the Removal Coalition, a group of anti-Trump organizations that advocate for Trump’s removal from office. Partners include FLARE, several 50501 chapters, Remember Your Oath, and American Opposition.
On Thursday, Democratic representative Al Green led protestors into congressional offices, where they called for Trump’s impeachment. Starting at 11 AM Friday, partner organization Citizens’ Impeachment will train participants on how to lobby for impeachment at FLARE’s hotly contested Union Station encampment. Anti-Trump veterans will host a rally starting at 2 PM in the same location, followed by a sold-out comedy show fundraiser later this evening.
“We will have fun, but this is not for fun. We intend to change the trajectory in this country and the conversation around the world,†the Remove the Regime website says. “We can only do this if we show up in numbers that are too big to ignore.â€
