Why I Do I Own So Many Versions Of The Same Thing?

Why I Do I Own So Many Versions Of The Same Thing?

A long time ago I used to buy simple stretchy snug fitting black tops to wear under my suits for work (at the bank), as well as a (very) similar version to wear with my jeans on the weekend. One day I was shopping with a girlfriend and I was just about to pay when she said – “Another black top?” – and I realised I was in a black top style rut.

On the other hand, I will, when I find something I really love/like a lot, buy in multiples. A favourite pair of jeans I might buy in different washes or lengths, or just right t-shirts, I buy in three colors. I have no problem with that.

It wasn’t that I didn’t like the black tops. I did, and in fact, still do. It was that I’d got lazy and wasn’t challenging myself to consider other options. For me at least, lazy = bored.

What’s your thing? (If you have one)
