Styling winter essentials with dref_by_d

The chills of winter have truly settled in and we’ve built out a perfect seasonal wardrobe with some brand new staples from dref_by_d. We’re always looking for new Australian-born brands to style with and support, and so far we’ve loved wearing every single one of these luxe-feel pieces.

Browsing the dref_by_d site, you’re met with a sleek web design and distinct streetwear focus. Their 2024 winter pieces offer everything from trendy wet-look jackets and double breasted coats, to chic knit dresses, jumpers and faux fur layers. While the pieces are all very trendy, championing oversized fits and boxy shapes, there’s an essence of timeless appeal to many of them, too. We can envision styling their wool coats and roll neck jumpers for years to come.

Mel picked out the Danica Jumper as an essential layering piece, finished in a gorgeous terracotta hue. This stylish staple has a very luxurious touch, made of a weightier woven knit fabrication that traps the warmth effortlessly. Its roll neck is perfect for a chic silhouette, and the slightly oversized fit makes it ideal for wearing over thinner knits, tops and skivvies.

Kristen also picked out some fabulous knitwear, choosing the matching Gelato Cardi and Rosette Skirt. This set is so cute together or worn as separates, with a pretty multi-colour stripe design that’ll stand out from the crowd in an instant. It’s the ultimate way to breathe life into your winter wardrobe and add a pop of colour.

Finally, Mel followed her (black) heart and picked out two black pieces to add to her capsule winter wardrobe. The first, dref_by_d’s Nova Puffer, is a fashion-forward statement, with a really cool boxy shape and cropped fit. The sleeves are oversized too, channelling that “I wear my boyfriend’s clothes and look cool doing it” type beat. It looks great both zipped up to the top or left undone.

To style with it, she’s wearing her own turtle neck top with the Aurora Skirt in a maxi cut. Its made of a breathable yet thicker cotton blend fabrication, with an elasticated waist for added comfort. I love that you can style it high, mid or low waisted thanks to the elastic, and lo and behold, it also has pockets. We love to see it.
