The Benefits of Floating Regularly

Most people who use the float tank regularly wish they could float more often. Learn why people love to float and what keeps them coming back!

Most of the research on Floatation REST follows the participants for multiple weeks or months while they undergo many sessions within a short period of time.

One of the newest float therapy studies surveyed people who float frequently to understand their motivations and perceived benefits of using the tank so often. The majority of participants have been floating for 3-5 years, suggesting they have likely experienced the benefits of regular floating over time and continue to come back.

Most Regular Floaters Say the Primary Benefit is Relaxation and Stress Reduction

92% of respondents reported relaxation as a primary benefit of floatation therapy, and 77% said that it helped them reduce stress. It’s no surprise that relaxation is at the top of the list. Being able to release all the tension in your body and float in zero gravity has that effect.

People who Float Often say that Floating Improved their Sleep and Mental Health

56.6% of participants reported enhanced mental clarity, and 55.4% reported improved sleep quality. The emotional benefits go deeper too. 53% of participants reported a deeper connection to self, 47% reported benefits in managing anxiety, and 38.6% cited burn-out prevention. And the benefits don't disappear when your session ends. The majority of participants experienced benefits lasting 1 to 4 days after a session. With repeated floating, the benefits last longer.

One-third of floaters say that it helps with chronic pain

The weightlessness of floating in warm Epsom salt water helps the body feel better. Pain management was reported as a benefit by 33.7% of participants, and 18.1% reported faster recovery from physical training. For people carrying chronic tension or recovering from exercise, regular floating can be one of the more effective tools in their routine.

Frequent Floaters wish they could float more often

While more than half of participants currently float 1 to 3 times a month, over 50% said they would float 1 to 4 times a week if not limited by time or money, with nearly 20% saying they would float more than 4 times per week.
